The 22nd of Dec. 2012, Most people are probably forgetting about that day but I remember that day clearly. Two days before Christmas Eve, people who were around me talked of nothing else but one big rumor. The rumor called the 2012 phenomenon was a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or otherwise transformative events would occur on or around 21-23 December 2012. This date was regarded as the end-date of a 5,126-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar (It is often known as the Maya Long Count calendar), and that’s why a lot of people including the scholar suggested the human extinction on the ground of a meteorite impact, big earthquake, super flare, or they suggested the conspiracy theory of a secret society, an invasion by aliens, or the dawn of the new era by a new breed of people.
As a matter of fact, I was freaking out about it, I searched a lot of information with internet and I believed it. Also, I prepared emergency supplies in my 70L backpack and I was walking around with a backup of my laptop. However, I decided that I’ll sit down on the street and draw portraits as usual, even if today is gonna be the last day of my life. I sat down in front of Shimokitazawa station in Tokyo and there I met a girl at the end of that day. I drew her portrait and we talked about the end of the world, then we went to drink to one of my favorite bars in Shimokitazawa. We made a toast at the bar which is a small triangle and has only one counter, 8 or 10 people are able to seat and a gentleman named Mr. Saito provided tasty alcohol and a nice atmosphere space. Then, After we drank a couple of glasses, she began to ask me slowly and quietly.
Hey man, Do you want to know the secret of the universe?
